Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities are the study, training, visits, exchange and discussions participated in by the engineering members to maintain and improve their engineering and technical competence and attributes, including but not limited to:
— participating in knowledge training or examinations in their engineering and technology fields;
— attending seminars and other learning activities in their engineering and technology fields;
— participating in activities such as formulating standards and conducting research in their engineering and technology fields;
— publishing professional articles or books in their engineering and technology fields;
— giving professional lectures or conference speeches in their engineering and technology fields;
— providing technical consultations and other similar services in their engineering and technology fields;
— other professional activities in their engineering and technology fields.
Engineering members shall, within the registration validity, earn at least 40 credit hours annually by participating in relevant CPD activities.
To promote the high-quality career growth of engineering and technical talents and meet the needs of engineering members in improving their engineering and technical competence and attributes, the Chinese Society of Engineers (CSE) and its members organize and launch offline CPD activities among engineering members at irregular intervals. CSE also sets up the “Online Learning Platform of the Chinese Society of Engineers” to focus on improving engineering members’ competency from 5 aspects, i.e. engineering knowledge and professional competency, engineering ethics and professional ethics, teamwork and communication skills, continuous development and lifelong learning, leadership and project management, and provide online course learning resources for engineering members and all engineering and technical talents. Engineering members shall earn no at least 30 credit hours of online course learning annually.
