Since China and Myanmar realized the mutual recognition of substantial equivalence between engineering competency assessment standards in 2018, the CAST Center for Professional Training and Services and Myanmar Engineering Council (MEngC) have made consistent efforts to strengthen cooperation. On November 4, 2019, the CAST Center for Professional Training and Services, on behalf of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), signed the Mutual Recognition Agreement on Engineer Qualification with the MEngC. As agreed in the Agreement, mutual recognition has been achieved between the Professional Engineers (PEs) of the authorized national societies under the administration of CAST and the Registered Limited Engineers (RLEs) and the Registered Limited Professional Engineers (RLPEs) of MEngC. Engineers who have obtained corresponding qualifications in one country can directly apply for registration in the other without taking additional examinations.
