On May 20, CSE held the first online Secretary General’s Office Meeting of its first Council for 2022 by virtual means. He Huawu, Joint Secretary General of the CSE and Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), attended the meeting and made a summary speech. The meeting was presided over by Luo Hui, Joint Secretary General of the CSE and Director-General of the Department of International Affairs of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST).
The meeting deliberated and adopted the Rule of Procedure for the Secretary General’s Office Meeting of the Chinese Society of Engineers, appointed the CSE’s executive deputy secretary general and deputy secretary general, and proposed to improve the governance structure and working mechanism of the Secretariat. It also nominated and passed the List of Members of the Working Committees of the First Council of the Chinese Society of Engineers. Attendees at the meeting discussed the 2022work plans of the working committees. other key works were also discussed, including the engineering system of competency assessment for engineers, mutual recognition agreement signing with the Institution of Engineers Singapore (IES), the establishment of an advisory committee, and the application for membership of the multilateral agreements on mutual recognition of engineering qualifications.
