On December 14th, China-Russia roundtable dialogue on engineering capacity building was held online. Luo Hui, Member of the Party Group and Director of the International Cooperation Department of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), Vice President and Joint Secretary-General of Chinese Society of Engineers, Yuri Petrovich Pokhorkov, the president of Association for Engineering Education of Russia (AEER) attended the dialogue and delivered a speech. Wang sun.u, member of Committee on Engineering Education of Chinese Society of Engineers (CSE), Deputy Director and Secretary General of the International Centre for Engineering Education under the Auspices of UNESCO, Kseniya K. Zaitseva, Director of Accreditation Center of AEER, Ouyang Wu, Director of Committee on Engineering Competency Assessment of CSE co-hosted this dialogue.
Luo Hui said that holding this China-Russia roundtable dialogue on engineering capacity building is conducive to deepening the exchange and cooperation mechanism in the engineering field between China and Russia, jointly promoting the capacity building of engineers, promoting engineering innovation and engineer exchanges, better implementing global development initiatives and promoting sustainable development.
Yuri Petrovich Pokhorkov said that this roundtable dialogue has built a very good platform and played a positive role in promoting the cooperation between China and Russia in strengthening engineering capacity building.
At the dialogue, China Engineering Education Accreditation Association (CEEAA) and AEER introduced the experiences and achievements and future prospects of engineering education accreditation respectively, the secretariat of the CSE shared the international mutual recognition of qualified engineers and the construction of the engineering competency assessment system. Chinese and Russian institutions such as the China Engineering Education Accreditation Committee for Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering, Moscow Institute of Aeronautics, China Institute of Communications have exchanged ideas on engineering education accreditation and engineering competency assessment according to their respective industry characteristics. The participants agreed that China and Russia have many chances for cooperation in engineering education accreditation, mutual recognition of qualified engineers, and qualification of registered engineers for overseas students. They look forward to further strengthening exchanges and promoting the early implementation of cooperation.
China-Russia roundtable dialogue on engineering capacity building is an important part of The 9th China Russia Engineering Technology Forum, it was hosted by the CSE, CEEAA, RosSNIO and AEER, which aims to build an exchange platform for Chinese and Russian engineering education accreditation and international mutual recognition of qualified engineers. More than 60 Chinese experts and scholars from The Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, China Society of Automotive Engineers and Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering and other relevant national societies and universities attended the dialogue.
