On July 30, the Myanmar Engineers China Visiting Program was unveiled in Nanning. Li Shunhu, deputy secretary general of the China Society of Automotive Engineers, Khaing Su Linn, consul general of the Consulate General of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Nanning, Liu Jiakai, vice chairman of the Guangxi Association for Science and Technology, and Engr. Myat Myitzu, member of the Central Committee of the Federation of Myanmar Engineering Societies, addressed the opening ceremony respectively. Aung Kyaw Myat, president of the Federation of Engineering Institutions of Asia and the Pacific and chairman of the Myanmar Engineering Council, sent a congratulatory letter to congratulate the start of the program. The opening ceremony was presided over by Zhang Mingtian, engineer of the Center for Professional Traning and Services of the China Association for Science and Technology and project supervisor of the Secretariat of the Chinese Society of Engineers.

The keynote speech session was presided over by Zeng Yonglin, director of the Societies Department (Liaison Department) and Senior Consultant of the Guangxi Association for Science and Technology . Chen Yong, Zou Yiqing, Song Yang, and Saw Pyae Aung made keynote speeches on topics including “International Cooperation and Talent Training in the Construction of the ‘Belt and Road’ Projects”, “Development of the Guangxi Society of Engineers and Engineering Practice of the DALA Bridge Project in Myanmar”, “Engineering Competency Assessment and International Mutual Recognition, and Vision of China-Myanmar Power Interconnection”, and “Rules,  Regulation and Engineering Practice of Myanmar”.

This program lasts for a week and mainly includes a great variety of activities, such as speeches of experts, discussions, technical visits, cultural experiences, researches on enterprises, visits to universities, and scientific visits, aiming to further promote the exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and Myanmar engineers, deepen the practical cooperation between China and Myanmar in the engineering field, and enhance the exchanges and mutual trust between the engineering communities of the two countries. About 60 representatives of Chinese and Myanmar engineers from the Myanmar Engineering Council, the Federation of Myanmar Engineering Societies, the High-Rise and Public Building Project Committee of Myanmar and the Guangxi Society of Engineers attended the opening ceremony and keynote speech session. The program is hosted by the Chinese Society of Engineers, organized by the China Society of Automotive Engineers, and co-organized by the Guangxi Association for Science and Technology and the Yunnan Association for Science and Technology.
